NetQuote is the largest lead provider in the nation. They provide quotes for 3 million consumers annually. They have been providing leads since 1989 and has since then connected 25 million consumers with local insurance agents. They provide leads for Auto, Home, Health, Life & Business lines of insurance with geographic and consumer specific filters so that insurance agents can receive high quality leads.

Costs

NetQuote has preset costs for their leads. For popular leads such as auto insurance, they allow agents to select from different preset filtered leads that each have their own price points. Below is a full list of their lead types and costs.

Filters

NetQuote uses preset filters. Agents are able to select the general type of lead that they're looking for which can help you pre-qualify the lead and increase the liklihood of making the sale.

The use a mix between Geographic and Consumer filters (for each line of insurance). The Geographic filters are free and allow you to only target your local market. The Consumer filters allow you to receive leads that are pre-screened to your specific needs.

    • All drivers at-fault accident free and ticket free for the past 3 years
    • Continuously insured for 2 or more years
    • At least one driver listed must be 25 or older
Preferred

    • No more than one ticket in the household for the past 3 years
    • Currently insured
    • At least one driver listed must be 22 or older
Specialty Standard
    • All drivers are ticket free for the past 3 years
    • No more than one at-fault accident in the household for the past 3 years

Standard Plus

Number of Agents Per Lead

To put it bluntly, NetQuote seems to be one of the insurance lead companies that tends to share leads with a large number of insurance agents. They state that on average, their lead is sent to 3-4 agents, but can be sold up to 8 times. With this many agents going after the lead, it makes it more difficult to make the sale and increases the liklihood that the consumer will get frustrated and annoyed by all the calls/emails.

On the flip side of the coin, NetQuote is stil in business and is in fact a leader in the business. With so many agents using their system, there are obviously many people making sales.

Lead Sharing Partnerships

Lead sharing partnerships simply means whether or not the lead company is selling the lead to other lead companies. NetQuote does have partnerships in place with other lead companies. This means that even if a lead is only sold 3-4 times on average, that last sale might go to another company that is also selling the lead 3-4 times making the true number of agents going after the lead even higher.

NetQuote does have lead sharing partnerships in place.

NetQuote delivers leads by email to agents in real time after the lead has been completed.

Billing

Overall, there is a reason why NetQuote has not just continued to stay in business, but also to grow and become the leader in the insurance lead generation space. Simply put, agents sign up with and continue to do business with them which shows that they are making sales with the leads provided.
