About InsureMe
InsureMe has been in the online insurance lead generation business since 1993. Their agents are loyal; 500 have been signed up for 5 years or more. InsureMe offers leads for all personal lines of insurance and uses customizable filters to let agents receive only the types of leads that fit their preferences. In 2008, InsureMe was acquired by BankRate.com.
Costs
InsureMe.com uses more of a hybrid pricing model compared to other lead generation companies. For their auto and health leads, they have different options with preset filters and a fixed price for each option. For their Home, Life and Long Term Care leads, they have a base price and customizeable filters with varying prices for each.

Filters
InsureMe has customizeable filters for some of their insurance leads and fixed filters for others. Since, specficailly for their auto leads, their filter options are practically word for word with NetQuote's, that this system is in place to aid the transfer of leads from one to the other.
InsureMe claims to have 700+ filters for their quotes. From looking around the site, it seems that this includes each specific option under their filters and not 700+ filtering types. Still, compare to most other lead companies, they have an abundant amount of ways to make sure you only get the leads you want - although they do come at an increased cost.
An additional filter that will be mentioned more in the next section is what they call their "Preferred Lead Program." This filter allows you to limit the number of other agents that also receive the same lead as you.

Number of Agents Per Lead
We have found that InsureMe will sell an insurance lead at least 6 times, if not more. They don't specific state how many times the lead is sold, but they charge if you want the lead shared with 5 or less agents. They do this through their Preferred Lead Program which can be set for any lead. This option basically allows you to limit the competition each lead you receive will have.
On their site, InsureMe states that they sell their lead on average, 3 ½ times.
Lead Sharing Partnerships
Lead companies usually market to a large geographic area - usually the entire United States. If they don't have enough (or any) agents to sell their leads to in a certain area, they will many times form a partnership with other lead companies to sell this excess inventory.
The benefit to the lead company is that they can continue to profitably run their business in that area so when a new agent comes in, they can start sending those leads to them. However, this can hurt overall lead quality as sometimes they may sell a lead to multiple agents within their network, share the lead with another lead company, and then that lead company sells the lead to multiple agents.
This results in 10 - 20 agents calling the same lead, seriously frustrating them and making it nearly impossible for many of the agents to even have a chance of selling the lead.
From our research, it looks like there is a very high probability that InsureMe has a Lead Sharing Partnership with NetQuote and possibly other lead companies.
Lead Delivery
InsureMe delivers leads by email to agents in real time after the lead has been completed. They also have the ability to deliver your leads to other lead management systems.
Refunds
InsureMe states on their site that they will refund money for any bad lead an agent receives. This usually includes fake information or inaccurate matching.
Our research has shown that there are a number of complaints that the refund policy offers very little flexibility, but there was no information on how that actually compares to other lead companies.
Billing
To start generating your leads, you need to add a credit card and make an initial deposit. Their minimum deposit is $100 and is as large as $2,000. Each time your balance is 75% spent, they will charge your card for the amount of your initial deposit unless you increase your limit.
InsureMe also offers the ability ot apply for a Line of Credit.

Summary
InsureMe has technologically advanced geographic, lead and consumer filters compared to many other companies. They offer a personal account rep and additional resources to help make sure that you're successful in converting the leads you receive. At the same time, they sell their lead 6+ times and with their partners, the lead could end up in the email boxes of 10-20 different agents.
InsureMe does give new customers 10 free leads which allows you to test the water without any risk. Testing is always the key to success so there is no reason not to give them a try.
